OSCINAP® Eye Drops combine the power of N-Acetyl Carnosine (NAC), a potent topical antioxidant, with Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium, a proven lubricant and demulcent for dry, irritated eyes. This synergistic formula helps in the prevention and management of oxidative stress–related eye disorders, often seen after ocular surgery or due to aging. NAC, a stable prodrug of L-carnosine, penetrates ocular tissues where it is bioactivated, providing strong protection against free radical damage, protein glycation, and DNA damage. Carboxymethylcellulose soothes and hydrates the ocular surface, while Glycerin adds moisturizing benefits. Together, these ingredients support ocular health, improve comfort, and slow the progression of degenerative eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal degeneration, corneal disorders, and diabetic eye complications.
Composition (per ml):
Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium IP – 0.3% w/v
N-Acetyl Carnosine – 1% w/v
Glycerin IP – 0.1% w/v
Boric Acid IP – 0.1% w/v
Benzyl Alcohol IP – (preservative)
Sterile aqueous vehicle – q.s.
Pharmacological Action:
N-Acetyl Carnosine (NAC): A time-release form of L-carnosine, with antioxidant and anti-glycation properties. Protects lens proteins, DNA, and ocular tissues against oxidative stress.
Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium: A demulcent that lubricates and relieves dryness, irritation, and ocular discomfort.
Glycerin: Provides hydration, soothing dry and tired eyes.
Clinical Efficacy (Research References):
NAC shown to penetrate the cornea, releasing L-carnosine into the aqueous humor, protecting ocular tissues (Biochemistry, 2000; Clin Chim Acta, 1996).
Demonstrated effectiveness against oxidative stress–induced damage in cataracts, retinal degeneration, glaucoma, corneal inflammation, and diabetic complications.

VISIOAID® Schirmer Tear Test Strips are precision veterinary tools made of high-quality filter paper. Each strip is printed with a calibrated scale and a fluorescent dye line that co-migrates with tear flow, allowing for easy and accurate measurement of tear production. These strips can be stored and used for comparison in follow-up examinations, ensuring reliable monitoring before and after treatment.
Indications:VISIOAID® Schirmer Tear Test (STT) is indicated for measuring tear production rates in dogs. It is essential for evaluating ocular conditions where tear deficiency may contribute, including:
Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS)
Pigmentary Keratitis
Indolent Corneal Ulcers
Exposure Keratitis
Preoperative assessment of lacrimal gland function before cataract surgery
Directions for Use:
Ensure the dog’s eye has not been exposed to topical medications or manipulated prior to testing.
Position the dog comfortably, away from direct light.
Open the strip sachet carefully:
Peel using thumbs and index fingers
Pull open halfway
Gently remove the strip holding the flat end
Insert the rounded end of the strip into the lower conjunctival sac while the dog looks upward. Ensure secure placement.
Leave the strip in place for 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
Remove the strip and read the tear migration distance on the graduated scale.
STT Detection Criteria:
Normal tear production: ≥ 15 mm
Borderline: 10–14 mm
Dry eye diagnosis: ≤ 10 mm
Severe dry eye: ≤ 5 mm
After diagnosis, appropriate artificial tear therapy can be administered according to severity.
Contraindications:
Dogs with ocular surface damage, corneal or conjunctival inflammation, or ulcers.
Warnings and Precautions:
Perform prior to topical anesthetic administration.
STT measures only the aqueous layer of the tear film; deficiencies in mucin or lipid layers may still cause corneal irritation or opacity.
For ophthalmic use in dogs only.

None known
Adverse Reactions:
Composed of paper with no biologically active ingredients; no adverse reactions expected.

Savavet Tacoline Ointment
Tacoline Ointment contains tacrolimus, a macrolide immunosuppressant produced by Streptomyces tsukubaensis. It is for ophthalmic use only.
Clinical Pharmacology:
Tacrolimus (formerly FK-506) is an immunostimulatory drug with a mechanism that is comparable to cyclosporine A but substantially more potent (up to 100 times). Its action is initiated by binding to a class of peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerases (PPlases), designated FK506-binding proteins (FKBPS). The FKBP-12 protein, which has a cytosolic mass of about 12 kDa, is the main FKBP found in T lymphocytes. Moreover, it has been claimed that tacrolimus blocks mast cell histamine release and reduces prostaglandin synthesis in a de novo manner.
Tacrolimus has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, activated T lymphocytes, and markers of apoptosis. It also has neuroprotective properties and prevents the loss of conjunctival epithelium and the reduction in goblet cell numbers. Many chronic ocular disorders share similar mechanisms, and the effects of tacrolimus on corneal grafts, inflammatory conjunctival and corneal diseases like Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca.
In order to treat these corneal and ocular surface diseases, ophthalmic tacrolimus is a welcome addition to the therapeutic toolbox.
Indication / Uses:
Used in treatment and management of Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca.
Dosage and administration:
Apply ¼ inch strip of ointment. Apply twice daily or as directed by Veterinarians.
