CEPSTAR™ 600 Yum Tabs deliver Cephalexin 600 mg, a semi-synthetic first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic from the beta-lactam group. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, providing effective coverage against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and certain Gram-negative organisms. Target pathogens include Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and Proteus mirabilis.
Formulated in a palatable Yum Tab form, this higher-strength variant is especially suitable for medium to large breed dogs, ensuring convenient dosing with fewer tablets. Each uncoated tablet contains:
Cephalexin Monohydrate IP equivalent to Anhydrous Cephalexin – 600 mg

Dosage and Administration
Recommended dosage: 15 mg/kg BW twice daily or 30 mg/kg BW once daily.
Guideline for 600 mg strength:
1 tablet per 40 kg BW twice daily, or
1 tablet per 20 kg BW once daily
Treatment duration:
Dogs:
Superficial pyoderma: minimum 15 days
Deep pyoderma: minimum 28 days
UTI: 14 days
Cats:
Cutaneous & subcutaneous infections: 5 days
UTI: 14 days
Administration: Oral. Tablets may be given whole, crushed, or mixed with food. Safe before, during, or after meals.
Warnings & Precautions
Accurately calculate body weight before dosing.
Do not use in pets hypersensitive to penicillins or cephalosporins.
Avoid use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and gerbils.
Not for puppies <1 kg BW or kittens <9 weeks old.
Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
Side Effects
Mild, transient vomiting or soft stools may occur, more commonly in cats. Usually self-limiting.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children, pets, and food items.
