Ketoconazole is a broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal agent that works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to the destruction of susceptible fungi and yeasts.
CareBest® Tablets are effective against a wide range of fungal pathogens responsible for ringworm (dermatophytosis), Malassezia dermatitis, Candida infections, Cryptococcosis, Histoplasmosis, Blastomycosis, Aspergillosis, Coccidioidomycosis, and other fungal skin and systemic infections. Due to its excellent distribution into the skin and subcutaneous tissues, it is particularly beneficial for treating persistent fungal skin diseases and recurrent yeast infections.
For best absorption, CareBest® Tablets should always be administered with food, as an acidic gastric environment improves ketoconazole absorption. Mechanism of Action
Ketoconazole inhibits the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14-α-demethylase, preventing the production of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This weakens the fungal cell membrane, disrupts fungal growth, and ultimately leads to the death of susceptible fungi.
Dosage & Administration
