FIPROFORT® Spray is a new-generation broad-spectrum ectoparasiticide containing fipronil, belonging to the phenylpyrazole class. It is designed for the effective treatment and prevention of all life stages of ticks (including those responsible for tick fever), fleas (including flea allergy dermatitis), and chewing lice in dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens.

Fipronil works by selectively binding to GABA-gated and glutamate-gated chloride channels in the insect’s central nervous system, disrupting chloride ion passage and causing uncontrolled neuronal activity, leading to parasite death. Its selectivity ensures safety for mammals while remaining lethal to parasites.

FIPROFORT® Spray is non-absorptive through the skin, ensuring prolonged residual action — up to 1 month for ticks and up to 2 months for fleas — depending on the environmental parasite load. Safe for use in young animals from 8 weeks of age, as well as in pregnant and lactating females.

Composition:

  • Fipronil – 0.25% w/v

  • Excipients – q.s.

Indications / Uses:

  • Treatment and prevention of ticks, fleas, and lice infestations in dogs and cats

  • Effective against ticks responsible for tick fever and fleas causing flea allergy dermatitis

  • Suitable for puppies and kittens over 8 weeks old

Application Guidelines:

  • Short-haired animals (<1.5 cm hair length): Minimum 3 ml/kg body weight (≈ 7.5 mg fipronil/kg)

  • Long-haired animals (>1.5 cm hair length): Minimum 6 ml/kg body weight (≈ 15 mg fipronil/kg)

Dosage Example:

  • 100ml bottle (0.5 ml/spray): 6 sprays/kg

    • Dog 15 kg = 90 sprays | Dog 30 kg = 180 sprays

  • 250ml bottle (1 ml/spray): 3 sprays/kg

    • Dog 15 kg = 45 sprays | Dog 30 kg = 90 sprays

Directions for Use:

  1. Wear disposable gloves.

  2. Hold the bottle upright and spray from a distance of 10–20 cm against the direction of hair.

  3. Ruffle the coat to ensure product reaches the skin.

  4. Apply evenly over the body, dividing it into five zones (right side, left side, underbelly, head-to-tail, and face).

  5. For the face, spray onto gloves and gently rub on, avoiding eyes.

  6. Allow the pet to air dry; do not towel dry.

  7. Avoid bathing 2 days before and after application.

Residual Action:

  • Ticks: 3–5 weeks

  • Fleas: 1–3 months (depending on infestation level)

Precautions:

  • Do not use on rabbits or other non-target species.

  • Avoid spraying on damaged skin or into eyes.

  • Prevent licking until coat is dry.

  • Apply in a well-ventilated area.

  • Flammable — keep away from heat or open flames.

Safety:

  • Safe for dogs and cats over 8 weeks of age
