Dosage & Administration

Starting Dose: 2.5 mg every 12 hours (half tablet twice daily)

After 3 weeks, adjust dosage based on serum total T4 (TT4) levels and clinical response

Mechanism of Action
Methimazole inhibits thyroid peroxidase, blocking iodide binding to thyroglobulin and thereby reducing T3 & T4 hormone production, restoring normal thyroid function.
