The best tick and flea tablet for most healthy adult dogs in India is a fluralaner chewable, which protects for 12 weeks from a single dose. If your dog also needs heartworm and intestinal worm cover, a monthly combination tablet like Simparica Trio replaces three products with one. Everything below is a comparison of the five oral options actually available in India, with real prices and the cost per day of protection each one works out to.
We sell all five. That's worth saying upfront, because it means we have no reason to talk you out of any of them — and we've flagged the situations where the cheapest option is the wrong one for your dog.
| Product | Active ingredient | Lasts | Covers | Min. age |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nulura (Savavet) | Fluralaner | 12 weeks | Fleas, ticks, mites | 6 months |
| Medilogy FurTICK | Fluralaner | 12 weeks | Fleas, ticks, mites | 8 weeks / 2 kg |
| Alembic Lanerwin | Fluralaner | 12 weeks | Fleas, ticks, mites | 6 months |
| Bravecto (MSD) | Fluralaner | 12 weeks | Fleas, ticks, mites | 8 weeks (intl. label) |
| Simparica Trio (Zoetis) | Sarolaner + Moxidectin + Pyrantel | 1 month | Fleas, ticks, mites, heartworm, roundworm, hookworm | 8 weeks / 1.25 kg |
1. Does your dog need heartworm cover? Heartworm is spread by mosquitoes and is present across India, especially in coastal and humid areas. Four of the five tablets here do nothing against it. If your dog isn't already on a separate heartworm preventive, Simparica Trio is the one to look at — or pair a fluralaner tablet with a separate preventive from your vet.
2. How old is your dog? Under 6 months, your options narrow considerably. Read the age column above carefully.
3. Has your dog ever had a seizure? Every product on this page is either an isoxazoline or contains one. The whole class carries a caution around neurological events. If your dog has a seizure history, none of these is an automatic yes — that's a vet conversation about a different class of drug entirely.
Fluralaner. 12 weeks. From ₹820.
Nulura is an Indian-manufactured fluralaner chewable from Sava Healthcare, available in the same five strengths as Bravecto and with the same 12-week duration. For a healthy adult dog with an ordinary tick and flea problem, this is the option that gets you the most protection for the least money.
It kills fleas from around 8 hours after they bite and ticks from around 12 hours, covers mites including demodex and sarcoptic mange, and helps manage flea allergy dermatitis. Because it works systemically, bathing and swimming don't reduce its effectiveness — a real advantage over spot-ons in monsoon months.
The honest downside: the Nulura label specifies 6 months minimum age, which is more restrictive than the international fluralaner labelling. If you have a young puppy, look at FurTICK or talk to your vet.
Fluralaner. 12 weeks. From ₹700.
FurTICK is the same active ingredient as Nulura and Bravecto at the same strengths, and it's usually the cheapest fluralaner on the shelf. Its label also allows use from 8 weeks and 2 kg, which makes it the practical choice for younger dogs among the long-acting options.
It's labelled as safe for breeding, pregnant and lactating dogs, and it's effective against fipronil-resistant flea strains — relevant if older spot-on treatments have stopped working on your dog.
The honest downside: Medilogy is a smaller brand than Sava or MSD. The molecule is identical, but if brand familiarity matters to you or your vet, that's a legitimate preference.
Fluralaner. 12 weeks. From ₹1,600.
Bravecto is the original fluralaner product and the one most vets know best. It is roughly 60–100% more expensive than the Indian generics for the same molecule at the same dose, and we'd rather tell you that than not.
There are still two good reasons to choose it. Its international labelling allows use from 8 weeks, which matters for puppies. And if your vet specifically wants the originator — some do for complex cases, or where a dog has reacted to something before — follow their advice over a price comparison.
The honest downside: you're paying an import premium for the same active ingredient at the same dose. For a routine healthy adult dog, that premium buys familiarity rather than efficacy.

Sarolaner + Moxidectin + Pyrantel. Monthly. From ₹450.
Simparica Trio is the only product on this list that covers heartworm and intestinal worms alongside fleas and ticks. It combines three actives: sarolaner for fleas and ticks, moxidectin for heartworm prevention plus roundworms and hookworms, and pyrantel for additional worm coverage.
It kills fleas from around 4 hours — faster than fluralaner — and covers five tick genera. Approved from 8 weeks and 1.25 kg. If you're currently juggling a quarterly tick tablet, a monthly heartworm tablet and a periodic dewormer, this replaces all three.
The honest downsides, and there are two. It's monthly, not quarterly, so it's four times as many doses to remember — and a missed dose in a heartworm preventive matters more than a missed tick dose. And dogs over 6 months must be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting, because giving a preventive to an already-infected dog can cause a serious reaction. That's a vet visit before you begin, not an online purchase decision.
It also doesn't cover tapeworm. If your dog hunts or has heavy flea exposure, ask your vet about adding a praziquantel dewormer.

Fluralaner. 12 weeks. From ₹1,700.
Lanerwin is Alembic's fluralaner chewable, made in Agra and marketed by a well-established Indian pharmaceutical company. Same molecule, same 12-week window, labelled safe for pregnant and lactating dogs, 6 months minimum age.
The honest downside: it's priced close to Bravecto without the originator's label advantages. If Nulura or FurTICK are in stock at your dog's weight band, they're better value for the same active ingredient. Lanerwin is a good option when they aren't.
Sticker price is misleading when one tablet lasts 84 days, and another lasts 30. Dividing price by days covered is the number that tells you what you're really paying.
For a 20–40 kg dog (Labrador, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever):
| Product | Price | Days covered | Cost per protected day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nulura 1000 mg | ₹1,050 | 84 | ₹12.50 |
| Alembic Lanerwin 1000 mg | ₹1,700 | 84 | ₹20.24 |
| Simparica Trio 20–40 kg | ₹619 | 30 | ₹20.63 (covers heartworm + worms) |
| Bravecto 20–40 kg | ₹1,760 | 84 | ₹20.95 |
For a 10–20 kg dog (Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Indie):
| Product | Price | Days covered | Cost per protected day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nulura 500 mg | ₹820 | 84 | ₹9.76 |
| Simparica Trio 10–20 kg | ₹551 | 30 | ₹18.37 (covers heartworm + worms) |
| Bravecto 10–20 kg | ₹1,700 | 84 | ₹20.24 |
For a 4.5–10 kg dog (Shih Tzu, Pug, small Indie):
| Product | Price | Days covered | Cost per protected day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medilogy FurTICK 250 mg | ₹700 | 84 | ₹8.33 |
| Bravecto 4.5–10 kg | ₹1,600 | 84 | ₹19.05 |

Over a year of continuous protection, a 30 kg dog costs roughly ₹4,200 on Nulura against ₹7,040 on Bravecto. Same active ingredient, same dose. That's about ₹2,840 a year, which for most households is the difference between year-round protection and skipping the winter dose.
Every tablet on this list works systemically, which means the parasite has to bite before the drug reaches it. Ticks die roughly 8–12 hours after attaching,g depending on the product.
So finding a tick on a correctly-dosed dog is normal and does not mean the tablet failed. Most tick-borne infections require many hours of continuous feeding to transmit, so killing the tick inside that window is what protects your dog. What you're buying is a very short feeding window, not a force field.
Repeatedly finding live, fully engorged ticks weeks after dosing is different — that's worth a vet conversation about dosing, weight bands, or whether something else is going on.
In most of India, ticks and fleas are year-round rather than seasonal, but risk climbs sharply with heat and humidity. The brown dog tick — Rhipicephalus sanguineus, behind most tick fever cases here — lives happily indoors and doesn't take winters off.
Treat every dog in a multi-dog household at the same time. Treating one and not the others just moves the problem around.
Counterfeit and near-expiry veterinary stock is a genuine problem in India. Whoever you buy from — including us — check these:
We list batch and expiry details on veterinary products and source through authorised channels — "Research Before Sales" is meant to be an operating rule rather than a tagline. Apply the checklist to us as readily as to anyone else. A seller who objects to being checked is telling you something.
Store all of these below 30°C, out of sunlight and away from children.
What is the best tick and flea tablet for dogs in India?
For most healthy adult dogs, a fluralaner chewable such as Nulura or Medilogy FurTICK offers the best value — 12 weeks of protection from a single dose at roughly ₹8–13 per protected day. If your dog also needs heartworm and intestinal worm cover, Simparica Trio handles all of it in one monthly tablet, though it requires a heartworm test before starting.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Bravecto in India?
Yes. Nulura (Savavet), Medilogy FurTICK and Alembic Lanerwin all contain fluralaner — the same active ingredient as Bravecto — in the same five strengths with the same 12-week duration. Nulura and FurTICK typically cost 40–60% less than Bravecto for the same molecule at the same dose.
Which tick tablet works fastest?
Simparica Trio begins killing fleas from around 4 hours and ticks from around 8 hours. Fluralaner products (Nulura, FurTICK, Lanerwin, Bravecto) kill fleas from around 8 hours and ticks from around 12 hours. In practice, tice all are fast enough to interrupt disease transmission; the bigger difference is duration, not speed.
Which tick tablet is safe for puppies?
Medilogy FurTICK is labelled from 8 weeks and 2 kg, and Simparica Trio from 8 weeks and 1.25 kg. Nulura and Alembic Lanerwin specify a minimum of 6 months on their Indian labels. Bravecto's international label allows 8 weeks. For any puppy, confirm the specific product with your vet rather than choosing from a weight chart.
Do any of these tablets prevent heartworm?
Only Simparica Trio. Its moxidectin component prevents heartworm disease when given monthly. The fluralaner tablets — Nulura, FurTICK, Lanerwin and Bravecto — cover fleas, ticks and mites only, with no heartworm activity whatsoever. Dogs over 6 months need a heartworm test before starting any preventive.
Can I give these tablets to my cat?
No. Every product on this list is licensed for dogs only. Dosing a cat with a canine flea and tick tablet is dangerous. Ask your vet for a product specifically licensed for cats.
Are tablets better than spot-on treatments?
For most dogs in India, yes. Tablets work systemically, so bathing, swimming and monsoon rain don't reduce effectiveness, and there's no residue on the coat for children or other pets to contact. Spot-ons remain useful for dogs who won't reliably eat a chew, or where a vet prefers a topical for a specific reason.
Is it safe to give these to a dog with epilepsy?
No — not without veterinary guidance. All the products here are isoxazolines or contain one, and the class carries a known caution around neurological events including tremors and seizures. Dogs with a seizure history need a different class of parasiticide, which your vet can prescribe.
Weigh your dog first — every product here is dosed by current body weight, and underdosing is the most common reason a tablet appears not to work. Then match against the three questions at the top: heartworm cover, age, and seizure history.
