Apoquel® / Apoquel® Chewable
(oclacitinib tablet / oclacitinib chewable tablet)

Apoquel is the #1 prescribed oral medication for providing fast and effective relief from allergic itch and inflammation caused by atopic and allergic dermatitis.

Apoquel is available in two forms: a traditional tablet and a chewable tablet. The chewable version was developed in response to pet owners’ preference for an easier and more convenient dosing option.

Indications:
Apoquel is indicated for the control of pruritus (itching) associated with allergic dermatitis, as well as for the management of atopic dermatitis in dogs that are at least 12 months of age.

APOQUEL is the first medicine specifically designed to target canine allergic itch and inflammation. Works differently from steroids and cyclosporine. 
Nonsteroidal APOQUEL targets specific cytokines that cause itch and inflammation, relieving symptoms of allergic skin disease with minimal impact on the immune system.

Benefits of Zoetis Apoquel:

  • Relief begins within 4 hours.
  • Controls allergic itch within 24 hours.
  • Significant long-term itch reduction.
  • Significant skin inflammation reduction.
  • Safe to use in dogs 12 months of age and older.

Important Safety Information of Zoetis Apoquel:

  • Do not use APOQUEL in dogs less than 12 months of age or those with serious infections. 
  • APOQUEL may increase the chances of developing serious infections and may cause existing parasitic skin infestations or pre-existing cancers to get worse. 
  • Consider the risks and benefits of treatment in dogs with a history of recurrence of these conditions.
  • Do not use in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs. The most common side effects are vomiting and diarrhea. 
  • APOQUEL has been used safely with many common medications including parasiticides, antibiotics, and vaccines.

Dose of Zoetis Apoquel:

  • The dose of APOQUEL tablets is 0.18 to 0.27 mg/lb (0.4 to 0.6 mg/kg).
  • APOQUEL should be given twice daily (BID) for up to 14 days of therapy and once daily (SID) for maintenance.
  • APOQUEL may be given with or without food.
  • APOQUEL may be discontinued without tapering.
